CRUISE TERMINAL

KAKINADA, ANDHRA PRADESH

The Kakinada Cruise Terminal is envisioned to host many tourist cruises and become a cruise tourism hub in the Bay of Bengal. The site is very close to the Kakinada city and beach. The site currently offers a ferry to Hope island.

The proposed terminal building and cruise ship are separately proposed due to the site restrictions. An 8 meter wide walkway connects the two building with a turn around and a plaza near the cruise ship boarding area.

The wave shaped roof blends the building with the context and the modular architectural definition of the proposal provides a combination of positive and negative places/open spaces (green spaces, buffers, courtyards etc.) to tie the proposal together.

  • Welcoming experience at terminal building for the passengers
  • Floating waved roof canopy strongly represent innovative structure and provides natural ventilation and day lighting in the building
