Kedarpuri, at an elevation of 3553 m, in the Himalayas, was devastated by unprecedented flooding in 2013, that wiped out most of the town but the main temple. This ecologically sensitive area witnessed perilous imbalances after being plagued by haphazard & unchecked construction driven by a burgeoning tourism economy. Working in close collaboration with the PMO office, the Uttarakhand government, and many corporate entities, INI Design team developed a comprehensive plan, embracing new and innovative solutions, to resurrect Kedarpuri with an aim to ensure its enduring vitality, and to re-imagine this spiritual town’s redevelopment through responsible stewardship, while addressing the environment, social fabric, ecology, & resilience.
