The Government of India has initiated the development of Unity Malls in each state and Union Territory of India. These hubs shall contribute to the economic growth, cultural diversity and tourism across the nation.
These malls will promote and sell products from each district of the state and also other states of the nation. The Unity Mall in scenic Meghalaya reimagines the traditional mall as a dynamic high street, transforming it into a vibrant array of multi-purpose, varied spaces. The innovative design fostering interaction and creating vibrant public spaces, highlights the mall's role as a social and cultural hub. Located within the Administrative City in the New Shillong Township, this greenfield site, positioned strategically between the new State Legislative Assembly and Shillong Airport, is poised to capitalize on the anticipated influx of visitors. Beyond its commercial role, the Unity Mall aims to establish an iconic landmark, transforming the township into a vibrant urban and tourist destination. By uniting the cultural elements of Meghalaya and other states, it celebrates India's diverse cultural heritage.
