Meeta is Director – Planning, Sustainability & Development Strategies at INI Design Studio, with 18+ years of experience working on a wide range of themes including development plans, tourism master plans, social impact assessments, and vulnerability assessments. She leads urban and tourism development projects through their strategic planning phases, defining programme frameworks, development strategies, implementation pathways, and operational frameworks. Meeta engages with government departments, NGOs, SPVs, PPP entities, and multidisciplinary teams to translate complex development objectives into contextual, resilient, and implementable strategies for urban and tourism landscapes. As a GSTC-certified professional in Sustainable Tourism, she focuses on shaping tourism destinations that balance economic development, environmental sustainability, cultural heritage, and community participation.

During her doctoral research, Meeta led an in-depth inquiry into the vulnerability of farmer households and their dependence upon agriculture along with mapping the role of agriculture and climate variability in inducing the vulnerability at the macroeconomic level. Following this, she has been building upon her understanding of the linkages between livelihoods, development, and inclusive (rural-urban) planning. Working on diverse themes, Meeta’s perspective has evolved to understand the community needs and their inter-relationship with space and their surroundings. As a geographer-planner, she believes in creating sustainable designs and frameworks for communities so that they can thrive in safer environments.
